POROUS CERAMIC PRODUCT AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a porous ceramic product considerably ensuring the porosity in a porous ceramic product at a low production cost. SOLUTION: The porous ceramic product contains many glassy hollow spherical granules in a porous ceramic matrix sintered body. The pores in the matrix sintered body are preferably formed by burning org. fine chips. The ceramic product is produced by mixing 100 pts.wt. glassy hollow spherical granules of 0.5-5.0 mm diameter with 50-600 pts.wt. binder contg. unfired ceramic powder uniformly contg. 30-70 wt.% org. fine chips, molding and drying the mixture and firing it at 750-1,200 deg.C.
