<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a bag in cost without degrading the appearance of the interior of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A strap 54 is connected to a bag 10 for supporting the head of a crew when inflated and developed and the vertical front end of the middle at the cross side of the bag 10 when inflated and developed. The bag 10 is normally stored and contacted along the side of a vehicle. In collision, the bag 10 is inflated and developed to absorb the kinetic energy of the head of an occupant to the lateral direction of the vehicle. When the strap 54 is pulled to the front side of the vehicle, the bag 10 is linearly pulled at its cross side and then inflated and developed in the furrowed and elongated condition. Therefore, there is no need for sewing between the strap and the bag in the longitudinal direction. The bag, when folded, can be shortened in the cross direction of the vehicle, so that it can be reduced in cost without degrading the appearance of the interior of the vehicle.</p> |
