<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new derivative useful as a therapeutic agent for the central neuropathy or peripheral neuropathy. SOLUTION: This derivative is represented by formula I (A-ring has one double bond conjugated with oxo group; X is O, S or the like; Y is a 1-6C aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the like; Z1 to Z3 are each carboxyl or the like), e. g. 5-[(2R)-(2-acetylamino-2carboxy)ethylthio] methyl-2-cyclopenten-1-ol. The derivative is obtained by carrying out the condensation reaction of, e.g. a derivative represented by formula II (U is an eliminable group; Z1' to Z3' are each carboxyl or the like) with a compound represented by formula III (X2 is S or the like; Y' is a 1-6C aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the like) [e.g. (2R)-2-acetylamino-2-carboxyethanethiol] in a molar amount of preferable 1-2 times based on the derivative represented by formula II under basic conditions in a molar amount of 0.1-20 times based on the derivative represented by formula II at 0-100 deg.C for 0.1-200 hr and, as necessary, removing protecting groups.</p> |
