PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an engaging member of a hook-and-loop fastener which has an innovative configuration as this kind of engaging element, allows engaging and releasing forces to be set easily, and can be manufactured continuously through simple processes with ease of maintenance and contorl for high productivity, and to provide the engaging member. SOLUTION: The piled engaging elements 12 of a hook-and-loop fastener engaging member 10 having a number of piled engaging elements 14 are formed on the surface of a flat base 11 by filament threads 14 wound around core threads 13. Therefore, continuous fabrication is made possible through simple operations. On winding length of the filament 14 is set to be longer that the length of the outer periphery of the core 13, and the maximum interval D between the peripheral face of the core thread 13 and the inside-diameter face of the filament thread 14 when the piled engaging elements are secured to the surface of the flat base material 11 is set to be not less than 0.1 mm and not more than 5 mm, so that piles of various sizes can be fabricated easily, leading to a broadened range of applications. |
