PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain improved wear characteristics with high durability by depositing a chromium carbonate layer of a non-electrodeposition metal precipitated nickel coating acceptor on a base material, forming a coaxial pattern with a diffraction surface by working with a diamond lathe, and ion etching a chromium carbonate intermediate layer in the precipitated nickel. SOLUTION: A chromium carbonate layer 54 to become an acceptor for a mechanically workable coating 56 of non-electrodeposition metal precipitated nickel is deposited on an upper surface of a mold insert blank 50. The nickel layer 56 is formed in a desired pattern of a region coaxial with a depth required by a predetermined pattern by working with a one-point diamond lathe. In the case of ion etching the pattern of mechanical working, the chromium carbonate intermediate layer 56 is lowered, the overall layer 56 is removed, and a negative picture of a predetermined diffraction pattern is formed on the layer 54. Thus, larger durability is incorporated, and improved wear characteristics can be provided. |
