PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a steering feeling by providing a control means for controlling power supply to a motor based on an instruction signal from an assist instructing means and a dither signal from a dither signal generating means. SOLUTION: A control circuit 3 drives a motor 3 based on a pulse signal, i.e., a target current value. The amplitude of a dither signal is set such that the output torque of the motor 4 generated by the dither signal is prevented from exceeding a torque loss caused by the static friction of a steering system. By performing dither control based on the dither signal whose amplitude is set, the torque loss caused by the static friction of the steering system is canceled by the output torque of the motor 4 generated by the dither control. Thus, the influence of the torque loss caused by the static friction is small at the time of starting steering, and a good steering feeling is provided. |
