<p>PURPOSE:To ensure that a range that a driver naturally views is illuminated according to the road ahead of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:If a vehicle is traveling on an uphill road 122, a range L wherein the control range (l) of cut lines 70, 72 is moved is set by setting Y-coordinates Y1, YL on an image which are vertically a distance of L/2 away from a reference point D that corresponds to the sight line of the driver and to the disappearing point of a center line 123 or the like when the road ahead of the vehicle is flat. The center of the control range of the cut lines 70, 72 is set to a disappearing point D' located slightly above the reference point D. If another vehicle is present ahead of the vehicle, the cut lines 70, 72 are set to positions such that glare does not reach the driver of the vehicle ahead.</p> |
