The plant has drying chambers (2) closed with an opening in at least one side wall closable by a port (7). In each individual chamber is at least one fan for circulating hot air and an input and output air unit provides and successively exchanges drying air. The drying chambers, with regard to the drying climate, can be regulated independently of each other. The size of the large number of small drying chambers means that the timber capacity is at most 60 cubic metres. An automatic handling system (5) for the timber stacks (6) collects the straw-laid stacks, transports them to the respective drying chambers where it inserts them. |
