Propylene oxide process using calcium carbonate-supported silver catalysts containing potassium and magnesium promoters

Direct oxidation of propylene oxide is accomplished using calcium-carbonate silver catalysts containing both a potassium promoter derived from potassium nitrate or the like and a magnesium promoter. The addition of iron as a co-promoter helps to further enhance the performance of the catalyst.
