The air heating device comprises at least one heat exchanger and device for passing air to be heated along the at least one heat exchanger. The at least one heat exchanger comprises a burner, at least one flue gas duct and a heat exchanging surface which can be brought in contact with air to be heated. At least the heat exchanging surface and the at least one flue gas duct are at least partly and completely incorporated into a body cast in a light metal or a light-metal alloy, more particularly aluminium or an aluminium alloy. The arrangement is such that during use flue gases heated with the aid of the burner can be passed through the at least one flue gas duct, separately from the air to be heated. Heat exchange occurs between the heated flue gases and the air to be heated.
