A hand powered food processor has a handle 4 connected to a drive shaft 16 on which is mounted a gear G2. An output shaft 8 can be driven at a first speed through direct engagement between the drive shaft gear G2 and a gear G1 on the output shaft 8 and at a second speed by moving the output shaft 8 and gear G1 so that the latter engages with a first gear G3 on an intermediate shaft 19, the intermediate shaft 19 being driven via engagement between a second gear G4 on the intermediate shaft 19 and the drive shaft gear G2. Any one of a plurality of tools may be engaged with the output shaft 8, the tools being collectively accommodated in the food processing container. Food may be introduced into the processor by means of a plunger 35 received in an inclined inlet 33. |
