FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises preparing gasoline fraction by liquid phase alkylation of aliphatic hydrocarbons with olefinic hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen fluoride catalyst and granular inert material layer followed by recovery of the desired product. Granular inert material includes using benzene cross-linked polyvinyl pyridine having Hammet acidity of 10-12 in protoned form.
