ACOUSTIC METHOD OF REVEALING TRACK FAULTS IN PROCESS OF TRAIN RUNNING ALONG RAILWAY

FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: method is designed for revealing defects in rails caused by forming of cracks. In process of train running acoustic signal is transmitted to rails. Returned signal is received by acoustic vibrations-into-electric signals piezoelectric transducers installed on sliding bearing on wheelset shaft. Coordinate of place of trouble is determined by acoustic signal propagation time. Acoustic signals are transmitted and received in turn. EFFECT: enhanced safety of traffic, possibility to increase speed and enhanced comfort for passengers. 1 dwg
