Compositions, etc., which contain as the essential components a daizeincontaining material and a microorganism capable of metabolizing daizein to give equol. These compositions are efficacious in preventing and relieving unidentified complaints in women of middle and old ages, involving climateric symptoms which cannot be efficaciously prevented nor relieved by any conventional means.
