Automotive hydrodynamic torque converter has a turbine wheel within a housing and a converter bridging clutch. The clutch has a piston moving back and forth axially on a hub, to which is secured a clutch plate with a lining in the outer radial sector. An axially-movable disc is fixed to the housing and located axially between the piston radial outer zone and the clutch lining.
