A device inserts a predetermined number of products in customized packages (3). The products are supplied by a hopper (4) equipped with a product eject control. A pair of driving rollers (11, 12) supply a pair of continuous bands (5, 6) to a station (20) for longitudinal welding outer edges (5a, 5b) of the bands (5, 6) to define a sleeve (7) extending vertically and receiving the products (1). Then, in a station (70) a customized writing is printed on the package (3) and transversal weldings are made in the sleeve (7) at station (30) to define packages (3) containing the products (1). The sleeve (7) is clamped and pulled by a pair of grippers (41, 42) operated stepwise, while a cutting off station (50), situated below the grippers (41, 42) separate the packages (3) from the sleeve (7). Lastly, the packages containing the products (1) are taken away by a conveyor (60) while faulty packages are detected and rejected at a station (80).
