<p>A method and an apparatus for controlling the air flow in an indoor machine of an air conditioner, capable of air-conditioning the room during heating operation so as to uniformize the temperature distribution in the room without the feeling of draft. The apparatus comprises a turbo fan (3) provided with a shaft in the direction of depth in a casing for blowing air sucked through the front side radially outwardly relative to the shaft, and a heat exchanger (5) provided on the front side of the turbo fan (3) in the casing. The casing is provided with an outlet from which air fed from the turbo fan (3) is blown upward, downward, rightward, and leftward. At the time of heating operation, a flap control (10a) outputs signals to an upper flap stepping motor (41) to a left flap stepping motor (44) to reduce the degrees of opening of upper, right and left flaps and to increase the opening of a lower flap so that the opening of the lower flap is greater than those of the upper, right and left flaps.</p> |
