The seat has a pair of backrest mounted housings receiving side plates. The plates and housings (3) form a wedge connection using corresponding conical surfaces. An angled clamp screw (12) extends through a wall of the housing and engages a clamping face of the plate (20) to reinforce the wedge connection. The clamping screw can be self tapping.
