Neutron absorber component especially for nuclear power reactor

An absorber component comprises a neutron absorbent material in the form of a neutron absorption element in a vitreous matrix structure. Independent claims are also included for (i) production of an absorber component by mixing a silicate starting material with absorber material and with noncombustible fibers to form granules which are heated, cooled and molded to a vitreous neutron absorber material; (ii) a fuel element mounting frame with the above absorber component; and (iii) a neutron absorber material consisting of a neutron absorption element combined in a vitreous structure.
