The windscreen wiper drive motor and reduction gear unit has the hollow casing (2) of the reduction gear train closed by a plate (5). The box is made of an electrically conductive material. The box and the electrically conductive surface of the gear unit closure plate are interconnected. The cover may be made of plastic, lined with an electrically conductive film.
