METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MAINTAINING A TIME GRID DEFINED BY A HIGH CLOCK FREQUENCY BY MEANS OF A LOW CLOCK FREQUENCY

The invention relates to a method for maintaining a time grid which is defined by a clock frequency produced by a first clock frequency generator. In this method, switching takes place for a predetermined switching time, substantially to a low clock frequency produced by a second clock frequency generator. The invention also relates to a device for maintaining a time grid defined by a high clock frequency, during which switching takes place for a predetermined switching time, substantially to a low clock frequency. The invention is used to advantage in mobile stations in mobile radio systems as a way of saving current.
