SELF-ASSEMBLED IONOPHORES

摘要

Ionophores which have the capacity to spontaneously assemble in solution are disclosed. These ionophores are composed of hydrogen-bonded monomers such as 5'-(t-butyl-dimethylsilyl)-2',3'-O-isopropylidine-isoguanosine, or 5'-(t-butyl-dimethylsilyl)-2',3'-O-isopropylidene-thio-isoguanosine. These ionophores self assemble in the presence of cesium ions, thereby forming complexes, each containing an ion. These ionophores are therefore useful for removing 137-cesium ions from nuclear waste.
