The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition having a neurotrophic-like biological activity which comprises a first compound which binds to and/or activates at least one trk receptor, and a second component which binds to and/or activates p75 receptor, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The neurotrophic-like biological activity may be that of NGF. The trk receptor may be selected from the group consisting of trkA, trkB and trkC.
