The use of free-flowing additive prepns. (I) as additives in coating powders is claimed. prepns. (I) are obtd. by mixing liq. or sticky-viscous additive(s) into a wax melt contg. wax(es) with a m.pt. of 50-120 deg. C, cooling the mixt. to below its m.pt., pulverising (if solidified) or converting into a finely divided form (if still liq.), and cooling the particles obtd.
