PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light emitting element the array of which is small in width. SOLUTION: P-type semiconductor regions 13 are formed on an n-type semiconductor block 11, arranged on a high-resistance semiconductor substrate 2. The prescribed p-type region 13 formed on the n-type semiconductor block 11 is connected with matrix wirings 14 and 4. LEDs, each composed of the p-type region 13 and the n-type block 11 are connected in a matrix to p-side pad electrodes 5 and n-side pad electrodes 55, respectively. The p-side pad electrodes 5 are connected to the prescribed p-side regions 13 via a p-side pad wiring 6 and the matrix wirings 14 and 4, and the n-side pad electrodes 55 are connected to the n-type block 11 via an n-side pad wiring 54 and an n-side contact electrode 52. The p-side pad electrodes 5 and the n-side pad electrodes 55 are formed in layers on the matrix wirings 14 and 4 via interlayered insulating film 12c. |
