PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sensitive material ensuring improved silver tone even at the time of rapid processing and excellent in sharpness. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material has hydrophilic colloidal layers including a silver halide emulsion layer on the substrate, contains flat platy silver halide particles having (111) faces as principal planes, 0.5-3.0μm diameter equivalent to the diameter of circles and 0.07-0.3μm thickness and contg. epitaxial-stuck silver halide protruding parts of a face-centered cubic lattice structure forming epitaxy bonding part positioned at the peripheral parts of the host flat platy particles in the silver halide emulsion layer and contains a leuco compd. which forms a color by reaction with the oxidized body of a developing agent in a developing soln. in the hydrophilic colloidal layers.
