PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium which has a good tracking characteristic and recording and reproducing characteristics in combination and facilitates production. SOLUTION: This medium is the optical information recording medium of a heat mode type having a dyestuff recording layer capable of recording information by irradiation with light on a disk-shaped transparent substrate having pregroove regions on its surface and a light reflection layer thereon. This medium contains cyanine dyestuffs having >=13 wt.% saturation solubility at 25 deg.C into 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropanol in the dyestuff recording layer. The difference between the optical density of the dyestuff recording layer in the position of 1 mm from the inner peripheral end of the pregroove regions toward the outer peripheral part in a radial direction and the optical density of the dyestuff recording layer in the position of 1/3 from the inner peripheral end of the width in the radial direction of the pregroove regions is within 0.2. |
