PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the power efficiency of a battery mounted on a portable electronic appliance, by switching to DC voltage generated by a DC voltage converter means at the time of a main driving condition which requires large power, and to battery at the time of a standby condition which requires small power. SOLUTION: A battery 10 outputs battery voltage VB of positive polarity to a step-down DC/DC converter 11 and the terminal (b) of a switch means 13. The switch means 13 conducts switching to the terminal (b) at the time of a standby condition which requires small power, and makes the voltage V01 of a terminal (c) equal to the battery voltage VB, which is then outputted to series regulators 15A to 15N. As a result, a power switch device 1 stops the operation of the step-down DC/DC converter 11 at the time of the standby condition which requires small power and makes power loss at the step-down DC/DC converter 11 to zero. It is thus possible to minimize the power loss of the whole device. |
