<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the magnetic recording and reproducing device capable of giving no damage to a magnetic tape at the time of a particular reproducing operation. SOLUTION: This device is capable of inclining center axes of upper and lower drums and a rotary magnetic head at a prearranged angle when a rotary locus plane of the rotary magnetic head becomes coincident with a recording trace of the magnetic tape, and is also capable of inclining a lead ring Lr, which is a different structure from the upper and lower drums and is arranged close to the outer circumferential surface of a small diametral part of a lower part of the lower drum, so as to make a position regulating surface G of a reference edge of the magnetic tape provided on an upper end part of the lead ring Lr coincident with a reference edge position of the magnetic tape. A turning fulcrum 28' (38') of the lead ring Lr is disposed in a position corresponding to a relief part outside the position regulating surface area G of the lead ring Lr. Consequently, at the time of performing the particular reproducing operation, large pressure is not given to the reference edge of the magnetic tape by an end part 59 of the position regulating surface G of the magnetic tape on the lead ring Lr, and hence a high quality and high speed regenerative picture can easily be reproduced without generating 'wakame' seaweed-like distortion in the magnetic tape.</p> |
