PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out the efficient increase of the value of evaluation factor by the change of a spectroscopic characteristic by designing a color separation filter having higher evaluation factor based on the change of evaluation factor at the time of arbitrarily changing the spectroscopic characteristic of the color separation filter. SOLUTION: A constant (h) is set (S401), a constantεis set (S402) and an evaluation factor Q is calculated (S403). The repeated processing of a color resolving filter fk(λ) is performed (S404-410). The repeated processing for each wavelengthλn is performed (S405-409). The evaluation factor Q<+> at the time of replacing fk(λn) with fk(λn)+h is calculated (S406), (Q<+> -Q)/h is made to be gk(λn) (S407) and fk<1> (λn)=fk(λn)+εgk(λn) is calculated (S408). After the processing is repeated times of the number of wavelengths and the number of filters, the graph of fk(λn) is superposed on the graph of fk<1> (λn) and displayed (S411).
