PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can be produced at low cost and can form a good quality image. SOLUTION: The copying machine 1 has a photoreceptive drum 10 for forming an electrostatic latent image on its surface 10a with reflected light guided from an original document. Around the photoreceptive drum 10 an electrifying charger 12 for applying charges to the drum surface 10a and an erasure LED array 14 in which a large number of LEDs, used for regulating an image forming area on the drum surface 10a and partly erasing charges on the drum surface 10a, are arranged in rows, are equipped. The reflected light from the original document is further reflected via a sixth mirror 43 and guided onto the drum surface 10a, and the part of the light is transmitted and received by a photodetector 51. By the photodetector 51 an amount of widthwise displacement of the reflected light is detected, and the position where the LEDs of the erasure LED array 14 are turned on and the number of the LEDs required to be turned on are controlled. |
