PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput as a whole by shortening time in the preview display of an edited image by setting the speed of scanning through reading means at different values in the cases of forming an image through an image forming means into a recording medium and displaying image data on a display means when scanning an original through the reading means. SOLUTION: In comparison with a print image reading mode, the amount of image data to be read in a preview image reading mode is about 41% and 22% respectively in main scanning and subscanning directions and it is equal with performing reducing magnification processing in this ratio in the main scanning and subscanning directions. The processing in the subscanning direction is dealt with by changing the optical scanning speed of an original in addition to the reducing magnification processing at a preview processing part 217 and in comparison with print image reading operation almost 4.5 times speed is provided. Thus, original reading time in preview operation is shortened and in spite of the repetition of image editing, the final image is efficiently confirmed. |
