<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase TDR (maximum combustion amount divided by minimum combustion amount in a combustion apparatus) in the combustion apparatus by restricting heat dissipation loss of a catalyst even upon a small amount of combustion. SOLUTION: In a combustion cylinder 1 a ring-shaped chief catalyst 2 is provided, which is divided into a hydrodynamical two-layered structure of an inner catalyst layer 2a and an outer catalyst layer 2b. There are disposed on one end side of a chief catalyst 2 a fuel supply fuel spray nozzle 11, a primary nozzle 5 for supplying combustion air from an air pump 7 to the chief catalyst 2, and a diverter chamber 10 for diverting combustion gas passing through the inner catalyst layer 2a. There is further disposed on the other end side of the chief catalyst 2 a premixing chamber 16 for forming mixture gas of a fuel supplied from both nozzles 11 and 5 and combustion air. The mixture gas is diverted in the premixing chamber 16 and passes through the inner catalyst layer 2a, and is again diverted in the diverter chamber and flows into the outer catalyst layer 2b.</p> |
