The seat slide mechanism consists of a female U-shaped section (5), fixed to the vehicle floor, and a male section (3), sliding within it. A locking bolt (15) is formed by the rear end of an elastic flexible blade (10), which is fixed towards the front (11) of the male slide, and is designed to engage with the notches (57), on the female slide. The release arm (7) is fitted so that one end (72) presses on the bolt to dis-engage it from the notches. This process is aided by a spring section (20) of the bolt blade.
