The knife guard (1) is made from a supple material such as a natural or synthetic rubber, neoprene, elastomer or a supple plastic. The guard is circular in shape and can be fixed to the knife, or be made with a central slot to receive the knife blade (3). The guard is held in place by the elasticity of the material from which it is made, and by two notches in the cutting edge and back of the blade.
