SOLUTION: The protective layer is a nitrogen-contg. carbon protective layer comprising a nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic compd. As for the nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic compd., for example, nitrogen-contg. five-member heterocyclic compds. or nitrogen-contg. six-member heterocyclic compds. can be used. As for the nitrogencontg. five-member heterocyclic compd.s, for example, pyrrole compds can be used. As for the nitrogen-contg. six-member heterocyclic compds., pyridine compds. can be used. The protective layer is formed on a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic alloy thin film. As for the material to form the magnetic layer, for example, ferromagnetic alloys such as Co-P alloy, Co-Ni- P alloy and Co-Ni-Cr alloy can be formed, and the magnetic layer is formed by sputtering method and the like.
