PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update a control program concerning communicating operation by downloading without necessitating a work memory, etc., of a large capacity at a portable communication terminal equipment with a recording and reproducing function. SOLUTION: This terminal equipment is provided with first and second memories 21 and 22 consisting of electrically non-rewritable nonvolatile memories; a communication control part 19 controlling communicating operation according to a control program stored in the first memory 21, a recording and reproducing control part 20 making the second memory 22 to store voice data to read this to reproduce and on the other hand, making the second memory 22 to download a new control program through a radio line; and multiplexers 31 to 34 provided between the parts 19, 20 and the memories 21, 22 to switch-connect the part 19 with the first memory 21 and the part 20 with the second memory 22 in a first state. In this case, the multiplexers 31 to 34 switch-connect the part 19 with the second memory 22 and the part 20 with the first memory 22 in a second state.
