PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a visual angle characteristic of a TN type liquid crystal display panel having negative dielectric constant anisotropy. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display panel is provided with a liquid crystal cell 13, a pair of optical anisotropic films 12, 14 arranged upward/downward it and respectively having one directional delay phase axes 12A, 14A and a pair of polarizing plates 11, 15 arranged holding the liquid crystal cell 13 inbetween, and the optical anisotropic films 12, 14 are the films whose diffractive indexes nx, ny, nz in the x, y, z directions are provided with optical characteristics shown by nx>ny>=nz, and their retardations (Δnd value) are 50 to 150 nm, and their Nz values are 1.1-2.0, and are arranged so as to form angles of 90 deg. or <=±10 deg. for the transmissive axes of the polarizing plates 11, 15. |
