摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode having its high strength and smoothness, superior current, cycling, and self discharge characteristics and a high- performance secondary battery using this electrode. SOLUTION: An electrode active substance of 5 to 30% with respect to the thickness of electrode serving as an electrode active substance and preferably 5 to 25% in particle size is contained, thereby enabling it to fabricate a high- performance electrode with a surface which is smooth and high strength. In this manufacturing method, LiCoO2 (active substance) of 10 to 35 micrometers in particle size, LiCoO2 (active substance) of 7 micrometers or less in particle size, polyvinylidene fluoride (binder), and graphite (conductive agent) are mixed at a predetermined ratio, and N-methylpyrrolidone (solvent) is added to form a paste and is applied and dried on an aluminum foil, thereby fabricating an electrode of an active substance of 150 micrometers in thickness. This electrode is a positive electrode, lithium is a negative electrode, LiPF6 is dissolved in a mixture solvent between an ethylene carbonate and di-methyl carbonate as an electrolyte, and a polypropylene-based porous film as a separator is used to fabricate a coin-shaped battery.
