PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent obstruction to thinning an optical unit by reexamining the form of the optical unit in an optical head device thinned by bending the optical axis by means of an erecting mirror. SOLUTION: The light source 2 of an optical unit 1 is arranged so that the light emitting point of the light source 2 is offset from the center of the optical unit 1 and is installed so that the light emitting point of the light source 2 is located on the lower position than the center of the optical unit 1. Consequently, A height from the installing surface of an optical housing 9 on which the optical unit 1 is installed to the light emitting point of the light source 2 is lowered and the height of the light emitting point of the light source 2 is set to the position on which a light beam is properly reflected by an erecting mirror 6 without lowering the installing surface of the optical unit 1. |
