摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable capable of assuring stable transmission characteristics even against disturbance, such as bending and temp. change, by preventing positional deviation of a unit. SOLUTION: This optical fiber cable is formed by laminating and inserting 8-core optical fiber ribbons into an S-Z spiral spacer (an S-Z inversion angle 300 deg., inversion pitch 360 mm) made of high-density polyethylene(HDPE) and closely winding wrapping tapes (nonwoven fabrics) thereon. While 10 sheets each of the 8-core optical fiber ribbons are packaged into a single-groove unit body 10 (made of a PBT resin having a coefft. of bending elasticity of 160 kg/mm<2> ), 15 pieces thereof are stranded to an S-Z form (S-Z inversion angle 300 deg. and inversion pitch 360 mm) around the outer periphery and, thereafter, the wrapping tapes (nonwoven fabrics) are closely wound around its outer periphery. Further, a PE sheath is applied on the outer periphery thereof. In such a case, the bottom surface of the unit bodies 10 used for the optical fiber cable are formed to a suitable matte state and the surface roughness thereof is 2.6μm in roughness average.
