The rectified (3) and smoothed (C3) source (VCC) is connected via an inductance (4) to the center point of a primary winding (Ep), on a ferrite core, whose ends are connected to the collectors of two junction - opt. field effect -power transistors (T1,T2) with high voltage ratings. The resultant symmetrical assembly constitutes two astable oscillators operating at e.g. 25 kHz. A control winding (Ec) is connected between the transistor bases, and the secondary (Es), with a capacitor (C1), forms an oscillatory circuit connected across the lamp load (1).
