PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a recognition result in a desired form without depending on the physical form of a slip. SOLUTION: A table sheet 5 consisting of a field and a record is adopted as a storage format of a recognition result from a slip. A field designating means 1 optionally designates a recognition field to image information of a slip, a character recognizing means 3 recognizes character information of the recognition field to the image information and an accumulating means 4 stores recognized character information as a record on the sheet 5. The means 1 designates a recognition field as programmable, and an arrangement designating means 6 varies the arrangement of record data which are added to the sheet 5 or record data arrangement of the sheet 5 which is outputted as a file.
