摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to form optical transmission line, in which no breaking is generated and no residual shearing stress exists. SOLUTION: A core material 20a and a clad material 20b are connected to a light emitting element 3a by supplying the materials 20a and 20b to the element 3a from a capillary 104. Then, the capillary 104 is moved from the element 3a to the optical transmission end of an optical waveguide 6a at a prescribed first moving speed to form the line, which is made by solidified optical transmission line forming material in its liquid condition, from the element 3a to the optical transmission end of an optical waveguide 6a and is made continuous with the materials 20a and 20b connected to the element 3a. After connecting the line to the optical transmission end of the waveguide 6a, the capillary 104 is pulled out from the optical transmission end at a second moving speed which is faster than the first moving speed.
