HAND HOLE HAVING ANTI-FLOATING PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handhole equipped with an anti-floating plate for preventing the handhole from floating when it is buried in wet land of high water content and subjected to buoyancy. SOLUTION: A handhole H is secured onto an anti-floating plate B having an area about 1.6 times as wide as the bottom surface area of the handhole H. Since the earth pressure being applied to the anti-floating plate B is higher than the buoyancy being applied to the handhole H, the handhole H is prevented from floating. Alternatively, a plurality of supporting rods are secured to the bottom of the handhole H with a plurality of anti-floating plates B being secured to the supporting rods projecting to the opposite sides and the total area of the anti-floating plates is set equal to or larger than 0.6 times of the bottom surface area of the handhole H.
