PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for picking up the image of an object while selecting a camera optimal for the image picking up state among a plurality of cameras. SOLUTION: In order to pick up the image of a moving object 20 while switching a line sensor camera 2 or an area sensor camera 3, a clock section C, an operating signal generating section 17 and an image signal switching section 12 are selected by a switching signal from a camera switching section E depending on a selected camera. An operating clock is switched in synchronism with the preceding and following clocks so that a pulse noise is not generated and an image pickup signal or a read-out signal is outputted as an operating signal depending on a selected camera.
