PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filtrating blood with glassfiber filter paper by which a necessary quantity of filtrate containing no leaked-out blood cell nor hemolytic liquid by be obtained by adjusting the pressure difference between the inlet of blood and outlet of the filtrate so that the pressure difference may fall within a specific range. SOLUTION: When blood is filtrated with a filtrating material composed of glass- fiber filter paper, etc., for preparing a blood plasma or serum sample from whole blood, the pressure difference between the inlet of the blood and the outlet of the filtrate is maintained at <=50 mmHg, preferably, at <=30 mmHg for at least five second, preferably, for >=10 seconds after the blood to be filtrated is supplied and brought into contact with a filter paper layer and, thereafter, the pressure difference is maintained at maximum 200 mmHg, preferably, at <=170 mmHg. At the time of filtrating the blood, it is preferable to start the filtration in a prescribed pattern and adjust the filtration pressure so that the pressure may match the preset optimum pattern by estimating the hematocrit value of the blood to be filtrated by comparing the secular change of the pressure difference with a prescribed criterion. Therefore, a necessary quantity of filtrate sample containing no hemolytic liquid nor red blood cell can be obtained. |
