摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device having a visual field angle characteristic symmetrical to the center line and symmetrical to the vertical line by slightly varying the alignment treatment directions of the alignment layers formed on respective substrate holding a liquid crystal layer and subjecting liquid crystal molecules to twist alignment with the varied angles. SOLUTION: The alignment treatment direction of the alignment layer 130 on a TFT array substrate 100 side and the alignment treatment direction of the alignment layer 130 on a CF substrate 200 side slightly vary. The liquid crystal molecules 301 sealed in the liquid crystal layer 300 are made torsional and are twist-aligned at the angle formed by the alignment treatment direction of the alignment layer 130 on the TFT array substrate 100 side and the alignment treatment direction of the alignment layer 230 on the CF substrate 200 side. If the liquid crystal molecules 301 are twisted and aligned by making the same slightly torsional in such a manner, the center line of equal contrast curves eventually rotated according to the twist angle. The center line is made to align to the vertical direction or lateral direction of the panel, by which the equal contrast curves are made symmetrical to the center line and symmetrical to the vertical line.
