A thin-film two-terminal element comprising a first metal film functioning as both a wiring layer and a first electrode, a first insulation film having nonlinear resistance characteristics and formed on the first electrode of the first metal film, a second metal film function as a second electrode formed on the first insulation film, and a third metal film having lower stress and electric resistance than the first metal film formed at the wiring layer part thereof, and another thin-film two-terminal element comprising a resinous substrate functioning as an insulating substrate and, formed thereon, a first metal film functioning as both a wiring layer and a first electrode, a first insulation film having nonlinear resistance characteristics and formed on the first electrode of the first metal film, a second metal film functioning as a second electrode and formed on the first insulation film, and a second insulation film formed through the first insulation film beneath the second metal film except for the part electrically functioning with the first electrode.
