Vacuum cleaner with dust chamber lid

The cleaner has a U-shaped cross-section lid with a catch element on at least one leg working together with counter catch element on housing. A vacuum cleaner has a lid closing off the dust chamber, which is pivoted at its one transverse side to the vacuum cleaner housing and is held by catches in its closed position. The lid (3) has a U- shaped cross-section and at least on one of its two U-legs (8) has a catch element (9) that works together with a counter-catch element (7) which is located in the overlapped region of the relevant U-leg. The catch elements are provided in the region of the end of the U-legs lying opposite to the pivot side of the dust chamber lid. Not only the catch element but also the counter-catch element are moulded on the respective apparatus part.
